Looking for a hospice that will allow elderly mom to continue doing physical therapy for a hip fracture that occurred a few months ago.

If the PT is to lessen pain and discomfort that would be allowed by Hospice.
If the PT is to regain strength, mobility and "normal" function that would not be allowed under Hospice guidelines.

No. You will have to check with each one.
Hospice is END OF LIFE care. Few people at end of life are needing physical therapy. They are dying. Physical Therapy is often kept for those who are going to go on living, and need to be able to get around and function as well as they can given the deficits of their injuries.

There ARE cases where PT is allowed. They usually are limited and must be pre approved as they are consider "treatments" and many treatments are no longer given in Hospice where it is only palliative and comfort care. Some treatments for PT are allowed to maintain some mobility for transfer to commode chairs or tranfer to chair for sitting up or to prevent contractures of muscles, which can add to pain.

Discuss this with Hospice providers and with the medical team recommending hospice.
Good luck.
