You need to create some opportunities for "me time" -which means that your spouse is either sleeping or safely engaged in an activity. It can be as simple as the opportunity to walk in the yard, have a beverage, read a book, engage in your fav hobby... The goal is to make sure you get enough "me time" daily since "caregiver time" can seem endless at times. I also think it is a good idea to have somebody take over for a couple hours every week so you get "time off" for your doctor appointments, your time to socialize with friends, your time to run errands...
