We have been looking for a "Support Group" setting where we can go and listen to others discuss dementia and what they have tried and what works or doesn't, in the Las Vegas, NV area?We have heard from lots of housing facilities but we plan to stay in our home as long as we can, if not until the time our Father comes for His visit calling us home!

Find Care & Housing
Mistrbill, I remember when I was looking for a support group here in my large metro area, and I couldn't find one. I was told it was difficult to create a support group because 1) the caregivers couldn't all meet at the same time, and 2) sitters were hard to find for a couple of hours if there was a group to go to.

The forum here at AgingCare was a godsend for me when I had a ton of questions over ten years regarding my situation. Everyone was so supportive, and those who did dish out tough-love, later I realized they were right :)

I am uncertain where your question is coming from?
If you fill in your profile as a new member that would help with answers.

As to the support groups that may be in your area, that is for you to find, really. I would look up "dementia support groups Las Vegas" online in hope that there are some.

In truth, in person dementia support groups seem few and far between. I think that is because caregivers, who are the ones seeking these groups, are so busy giving 24/7 care that they cannot get to the meetings.

There are MANY dementia support groups online and you will find most of them on Facebook.

Good luck.
