Does anyone know good gift ideas to give to the staff at a Nursing Facility?

I'm not sure if the gift ideas would be similar to those suggested to give to staff at AL or not?

Thanks 🙂

Recently I did big decorated holiday baskets/bowls for the staff filled with individual packages of healthy stuff, junky stuff, and everything in between. They rarely lasted through the 3 shifts. I did them for all holidays and so,eti,es in between.

When my mother was in residential care, I bought small change purses and put a $5 bill (which was permitted) in each. Another time I got a sell-out deal for very pretty wrist watches, and staff members who are still working at the facility still wear them and comment about them when I see them.

I always wrote personal notes to the care givers that saw my LOs most. They deserved a pat on the back.

I used to give out the giant boxes of Russell Stover chocolates to the special caregivers at moms Memory Care. I can't even find them to link you to, and even if I could, they probably cost a fortune now. They were $9.98 at Wal Mart in 2022.

Oops, here it is......$23.99 not including shipping 😑

To the rest of the staff I'd give out a Christmas tin of butter cookies here:

Or a big Christmas tin of popcorn here:

I'd also contribute $$$ to the pool.

I left a box of cookies from the local bakery for the staff. I spoke to a daughter whose mother is on the floor and she bought umbrellas for the staff who help her mother.

My mother’s in a small (10 residents) home. Last year I filled a box with treats - some healthy, some not - including homemade baking (with labels). I was thinking of adding mini (purse or pocket) hand lotions, lip balms, etc., this year.

anonymous1732518: Perhaps you could give a basket of citrus fruit.

I can’t think of a reason for it to be different .
Pizza, sub, candy , cookies . Soft pretzels , donuts . If you are thinking of your staff on your unit perhaps small plants they can take home .

Thank you for the responses!! I think this is even better if the gift is given anonymously.
