I will be moving in with him in the next 30 days. How do I apply for Medicare assistance for a person who is legally blind? I could really use some help. I am 70 and my ex is 86. Please help me do the right thing for him.

If he is 86 he should already be on Medicare. If you are asking for additional services there may not be any.

Maybe you are thinking Medicaid? Check online for application process. If he is a veteran there may be additional services and benefits there. Call the Area Agency on Aging for specific resources available in your area.

Yes, I think you mean Medicaid.

God love you for becoming his caretaker. I hope though you have planned ahead. Is he able to be on his own if you need to shop or just do something for yourself? Can he still do for himself? You may want to contact your Dept of the blind and see if there is some kind of training they will give to help ur ex get around without you having to do for him constantly. He should not depend on you for everything.
