Anyone know of a good lawyer in Clarkston Washington or Lewiston Idaho? I have cared for him for 3 years without so much as a phone call or even a card sent to him on holidays, birthdays nor when he has been hospitalized from my 2 siblings. He has suffered a broken hip, a TIA and a few other health scares. My sister is the executor on his will. She also has blocked me from any contact with her, she won't answer emails, phone calls, even social media. she took out 100 thousand dollars from his retirement account (right before she had him put under a court guardianship and bought an RV that he lives in in my yard but put it into her name only (his name is not on the title at all, so is not part of his estate)She also bought herself a 5,000 diamond ring because my Mother left me a nice ring and she got a much smaller diamond when our mom passed. He is 70 years old now and quite frail. If or I should say when he dies I know I will have problems with his funeral and getting my 1/3 of his estate which is how his will reads. It's not fare in the fact that I do all the work, while my brother and sister won't even talk to him or I. Any suggestions or names of a good attorney?

I just read your 2014 post with much more detail on the medical issues this gentleman has, as well as how difficult you felt caring for him was. You wanted to be paid then.

Were you successful in getting payment? If not, given the medical challenges this man faces, I think it's time to advise (not ask) the sister who holds guardianship to find a placement for him.

You wrote that he has mental challenges and lives in an uninsulated RV in your yard in Washington. Even in that state, an uninsulated dwelling is unacceptable.

You or your sister who holds guardianship need to find a suitable placement for this man so at least he can get the benefit of professional medical care. From your earlier post, this is clearly too much for you.

Any funds his estate might have should go for his care now.

You can also use https://www.agingcare.com/Elder-Law to find a good Elder Law attorney.... type in the zip code. I found my Elder Law attorney that way, and she was outstanding, was very impressed.

Things have changed since 2014, He has a personal and a financial guardian, they were court appointed but have not made my sister put his RV in his name. She withdrew 100,000 from his estate right before she lost her POA to buy it then put the RV in her name only, took the tax credit for it and kept it in her name only, which removed it from his estate. I have not been able to get his fin. guardian to do anything about it. He's not on top of things at all. He is Very well cared for, after his rehab for his broken hip my home and his RV were looked at by the PT and OT people from the care facility and they both recommended he return to my home. I think you misunderstood his living conditions. I was wanting to be payed for the care I provide since I am unable to leave him alone and had to quite working outside my home. Also for the cost of the ele for the RV, things like that. I was even paying for his depends. I should not have to pay his way in life just because I am his caregiver. My 2 siblings have not lifted a finger to help nor have any contact with him.

I am happy to say this is being taken care of finally. I have got him an attorney and my sister will no longer be in charge of ANYTHING as she has not had any contact with him for over 3.5 years now. It's so sad that out of 3 siblings I can't even get them to call or send him a card on holidays,Birthdays or even when he's sick and in the hospital :( SHAME ON THEM !!! Thanks for the support. It helps so much, just to know your not alone some days.
